Tormenti Architecture approaches architecture as a long-term act of authorship. Each residence emerges from the emotional and environmental realities of inhabitation — how light is received, how weather is felt, how rhythm, material and atmosphere shape the relationship between the individual and the surrounding landscape over time.

Spaces are guided by pacing, softened transitions and environmental depth. Material, proportion and light are treated not as isolated elements, but as part of a continuous condition shaped through climate, ritual and daily life. The architecture gradually reveals itself through movement, changing light, weather and use.

Rather than existing as static compositions, the residences are designed to settle naturally into their environment and into the lives of those inhabiting them. The result is architecture that feels restrained, lasting and deeply personal.

Tormenti Architecture operates from Switzerland and works internationally on a limited number of highly individualized residential projects.

Founded by Nicolas Schelling, whose work is shaped by atmosphere, climate and the long-term realities of inhabitation.
